The Mission
Over the years, we've hit some pretty big joints: The Benevolent Bank, The Golden Grin, an Andersonian. But it's time we hit something bigger... something like Fort Knox. The world's largest depository of gold buillion. A place so secret the last time civilians were allowed in was decades ago. Knocking over such a secure base seems impossible... but we're all about doing the impossible. Preparations have been made to gain you entry to the facility, the rest is all up to you.
From what the plans show, the facility is made up of four warehouses. These are our targets. The government isn't playing games, if you want to get in without raising any alarms we'll need to bypass various security systems.
Each warehouse is likely to have a different security system, perhaps an iris scanner requiring the eyes of the general, a keycard lock, or an electronic security system you can shut off at a security building. If we're lucky, a warehouse or two may be open, but you'll need to be wary of anyone going in or out.
Of course, if you don't mind making a little noise, we can use the thermal drill. Alex should drop one off as soon as you make your presence known. Four shaped charges can provide you with a faster way in if you happen to have any on hand.
Once you manage to get inside the warehouses, you should find what we're looking for: pure 24 carat gold. At least, that's the hope. Who knows what we might stumble upon in the government's most secure storage facility. You're likely to find forklifts that can help you transport the gold to where it needs to go.
Four auxillary buildings sit around the warehouses. You'll want to take note of these as well. The security room houses the camera operator. The offices have computers that may need to be hacked later. The generator room is useful in disabling security measures which will be discussed later. The last auxillary building isn't well detailed in the plans, it appears to require a keycard. It may be an armory or infirmary, or perhaps it's nothing at all.
The Loot
The warehouses are just the tip of the iceberg. The Fort Knox facility descends hundreds of levels below the surface, a nearly infinite source of gold accessed with elevators located in each of the warehouses. As long as you stay out of custody, you can stay for as long as you like. All you need to do is activate the elevators and keep everything in check on the surface, my man on the inside will load them full of gold and send them back to the surface. The plans show reinforced gates on some of the floors, so I've supplied you with thermite paste. If my inside man requests some, you'll need to grab it from the van.
If you're staying sneaky, you'll have to keep on your toes if you want to keep the elevators running. A new shift is prone to start at any time, so expect to have to deal with guards. My inside man can empty and return used body bags if they're tossed in an elevator in case you run out. It's likely that some security mechanisms will activate periodically, so be ready to enter a security code or hack a computer nearby. If anyone calls to the security
room, you'll have to deal with that too. It's a lot to keep track of, I know, but the payout is worth it.
The Defenses
Of course, such a high security facility is going to have good defenses. I've already planned a few ways for you to get in, but you'll still have to be careful once inside. Several guards will roam the facility, but most won't enter the warehouses. Those that do will be alerted by a running elevator, so be wary. Make sure to also watch out for cameras.
An electric fence surrounds the facility. The auxillary generator can be found in the generator room, shutting this off will disable the fence but will also disable the elevators until turned back on. You'll need to turn off the fence to retreive the thermite or to secure loot. While the fence is off, cops will be able to scale it, so act fast.
